No one could pretend to be this dumb, right?
President Donald J. Trump surely didn’t win his seat in the Oval Office based on intellect. In fact, while George W. Bush was long considered to be one of the dumbest presidents America has ever, or could ever have, I daresay Donald Trump wins that contest by a landslide.
On Saturday, protests were held in roughly 150 cities across the country with the intention of pressuring Trump into releasing his tax returns. The fact that Trump has yet to release his returns goes against a 40-year-old precedent and raises even more questions about potential conflicts of interest that the president may be hiding within them. Further questions about whether Donald Trump is paying his “fair share” have also been raised.
Trump’s team promised during the campaign that his returns would be released should he won the presidency, which of course, he did, yet no tax returns were released. When members of Trump’s transition and then White House staff were questioned on the matter, they were consistently dodgy; Kellyanne Conway even insisted that the American people “didn’t care” about seeing the returns and therefore he wouldn’t bother. Social media users on both sides of the political spectrum reacted very strongly to these comments when they were made.
However, seeing thousands of people take to the streets to refute that argument and make it extremely clear that they indeed do care and want to see his returns — better late than never — he had to say something.
Problematically but not surprisingly, what he chose to say is absolutely moronic:
‘Someone should look into who paid for the small organized rallies yesterday. The election is over!’

The election is over!? Is he for real!? This is coming from a president who is holding post-victory rallies across the country for his supporters and who allegedly paid for seat-fillers at his inauguration.
Thankfully, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has the backs of Americans, and shot back this hilarious retort, which clearly demonstrated Trump’s reprehensible incompetence.
‘Not sure your point, but just a reminder that there is a constitutional right to protest.’

Good on them for reminding him again, because based on his reactions to essentially all of the protests held in his “honor,” he doesn’t know a darn thing about the constitution that he swore to uphold.
