Trump Goes Off Twitter’s Deep End – Spouts Ludicrous Easter Conspiracies (TWEET)

This past Saturday, protesters gathered across the nation to demand that President Trump release his tax returns. This demand is birthed out of concern that the President is hiding conflicts of interest in those returns.

Trump could address these concerns through simply releasing his tax returns, as every other President in the last 40 years has done, but he’s chosen not to do so. Sure, he promised at one point that he would release his tax returns, but the argument of “You promised!” doesn’t really carry much weight with our President. He does what he wants.

With that in mind, Trump’s reaction to the Saturday protesters demanding the release of his tax returns is unsurprising and yet still hideous. He literally took to Twitter on Sunday morning to suggest that Saturday’s protesters were paid. This claim about protesters is something that Trump and his ilk have made in the past, but it wasn’t clear that the idea that protesters against Trump are generally paid hadn’t died yet until this morning’s tweets from the president.

He wrote:

‘I did what was an almost an impossible thing to do for a Republican-easily won the Electoral College! Now Tax Returns are brought up again? Someone should look into who paid for the small organized rallies yesterday. The election is over!’

First of all, if Trump wants to know why his tax returns have been “brought up again,” perhaps he shouldn’t bring up the election, which ended six months ago. Talk about hypocrisy.

Secondly — seriously? Does Trump seriously think that Saturday’s protesters were paid? Has it never occurred to him that perhaps people have legitimate grievances with him and his administration? Or is he so far gone in la la land that he’s never woken up to that fact?
