Trump Bombards Twitter With Whiney Rant About New England Patriots (TWEET)

This past Wednesday, the New England Patriots visited the White House as part of the customary festivities following their recent Super Bowl win.

Ahead of that visit, a number of Patriots players announced that they would be skipping the outing as a measure of protest against Donald Trump’s hideous presidential administration.

As a part of their coverage of the event, the New York Times posted a side by side photographic comparison of the Patriots visit to the White House this past Wednesday and their visit to the Obama White House following the team’s 2015 Super Bowl win.

Although the two photos show vastly dissimilar crowds, with the Obama crowd consisting of dozens and dozens of more people then the one that Trump hosted, the two photos are not comparable.

The official New England Patriots Twitter account pointed this out.

The official Patriots Twitter account posted an image from the Patriots 2017 White House visit that shows everyone who is an attendance, and the photo doesn’t look that different from the one taken during the Obama administration.

So, interesting story, right? That’s the end of it, right?

President Trump unsurprisingly had to throw in his two cents on the situation, writing the following on Twitter early Thursday morning: “Failing @nytimes, which has been calling me wrong for two years, just got caught in a big lie concerning New England Patriots visit to W.H.”

The problem is that for Trump to suggest that the NYT Sports gaffe concerning the attendance of the Patriots visit to the White House changes anything about the media’s repeated criticisms of the current administration entirely misses the point.

The top comments on Trump’s most recent tweet point this out.

Trump has found that once you pass a certain point in your lie-ridden rhetoric, there’s simply no going back.
