A viral Facebook post shows a confrontation between an American Airlines employee and a female passenger that went very wrong after the employee allegedly hit her with her stroller, barely missing the baby in the passenger’s arms.
A male passenger can be seen in the video defending the woman and telling the airline employee “you do that to me and I’ll knock you flat.” In the background, the female passenger can be seen crying and asking for her stroller back.
As the employee was confronted, the scene escalated to the point of a near second bout of violence as he yells as the defender of the woman of the baby, “Hit me!”
Another passenger, Surain Adyanthaya, confirmed that the incident involved the American Airlines employee hitting a passenger with a stroller and posted video of the resulting incident. The video has so far been seen by more than one million Facebook users.
‘OMG! AA Flight attendant violently took a stroller from a lady with her baby on my flight, hitting her and just missing the baby. Then he tried to fight a passenger who stood up for her. AA591 from SFO to DFW.’
That same passenger later updated the story, saying that the female passenger with two small children was escorted off the plane by security while the male American Airlines employee was allowed to stay on the flight.
The airline has since released a statement about the incident to ABC News.
‘The actions of our team member captured here do not appear to reflect patience or empathy, two values necessary for customer care. In short, we are disappointed by these actions. The American team member has been removed from duty while we immediately investigate this incident.’
Is it no longer safe to fly the friendly skies?
