Trump Dials The Crazy To Level 10 During Saturday Afternoon Tweet Blast (IMAGES)

President Trump took to Twitter again late this Saturday afternoon, speaking again about Earth Day.

Trump’s second Earth Day Twitter message was no more sensible or on point then his first.

Late Saturday afternoon, he wrote, “I am committed to keeping our air and water clean but always remember that economic growth enhances environmental protection. Jobs matter!”

The lunacy in that statement is incredibly jarring.

Nobody ever said that jobs didn’t matter, Trump.

In fact, it’s a key part of the cliched response to Trump and his ilk’s cliched line about “cutting environmental protection regulations for the sake of jobs” that keeping regulations in place might force a few jobs to disappear in one area, but it will allow nearly unmitigated expansion everywhere else.

For Trump and those who are ideologically similar to him to cling so furiously to the line that we can’t enact environmental regulations lest we lose jobs keeps the nation’s economy from being able to move forward, by definition. If Trump refuses to allow one iota of the hold that he has over the “old way” to slip from his grasp, there will never be a new way of doing things.

And yet, Trump is still tweeting this crap on Earth Day anyway.

Quite simply, the idea that economic growth enhances environmental protection might sound good in theory, but it makes no sense in reality. The kind of economic growth that Trump has in mind — allowing companies to build with little regard for pollution, for instance — definitely does not enhance environmental protection.

Trump’s first Earth Day message — featured below — was a weak attempt at concealing what he really thinks about the environment, something that was put on fill display in his second tweet.
