The Trump Presidency is like one big, sick joke.
President Trump took to Twitter this Saturday afternoon with a message for Earth Day, but it’s laced with the kind of backhanded screwing over that has quickly come to define Trump’s time in the White House.
Trump wrote, “Today on Earth Day, we celebrate our beautiful forests, lakes and land. We stand committed to preserving the natural beauty of our nation.”

Seriously, Trump? Is that a joke?
Pretty much the only thing that the Trump Administration has managed to get done in the short time that the belligerent businessman has been in the White House has centered around wrecking the environment.
For instance, although Trump has left important offices empty across the federal government, he has named a head of the EPA. Trump’s pick to head the EPA, Scott Pruitt, literally made a name for himself in his former job as an overall opponent of environmental protection regulations.
In addition to that obscene appointment, Trump has proposed that the EPA itself be shrunk by at least a third, while also slashing environmental protection regulations left and right in the name of “creating jobs.” What Trump doesn’t seem to realize however is that there are concerns that exist outside of simple job creation, such as the fact that if we destroy the planet and kill ourselves in the process there isn’t going to be anyone left to fill Trump’s jobs.
And this guy — this environmental protection regulation flaunting, climate change denying so-called president — wants to take to Twitter to lecture us about Earth Day?
Nope. On this very day, hundreds of March for Science events are happening to try and send Trump a message about the importance of acknowledging science.
