It’s bad enough that President Trump has refused to criticize Russian President Vladimir Putin. Now, he’s praised North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.

During an interview with CBS’s “Face The Nation,” Trump said that, while Kim Jong-Un may not be sane, he is a “pretty smart cookie.”

He also praised the fact that the dictator had to assume power at a young age.

‘People are saying, “Is he sane?” I have no idea.’

‘I can tell you this, and a lot of people don’t like when I say it, but he was a young man of 26 or 27 when he took over from his father, when his father died. He’s dealing with obviously very tough people, in particular the generals and others.’

‘At a very young age, he was able to assume power. A lot of people, I’m sure, tried to take that power away, whether it was his uncle or anybody else.’

‘And he was able to do it. So obviously, he’s a pretty smart cookie.’

After praising the country’s leader, Trump did at least say that the U.S. has got to do something about the situation with North Korea “that’s been going on for a long period of years.” However, he also argued that the problem should have been addressed by one of the country’s former presidents.

‘Frankly, this should’ve been done and taken care of by the Obama administration.’

‘Should’ve been taken care of by the Bush administration. Should’ve been taken care of by Clinton.’

Trump’s remarks on North Korea and Kim Jong-Un came shortly after Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the option for military action against North Korea should remain on the table.

While he said it should be “the very last option,” McCain added that it would be “foolish” to “absolutely rule out that option.”

Based on his responses during this morning’s interview, Trump doesn’t seem to ruling out military action. He said that he would “not be happy” if North Korea conducts another nuclear test and, when asked specifically if he would consider military action, he said, “I don’t know. I mean, we’ll see.”
