Everyone knows how much President Donald Trump loves to take to Twitter and let out all of his anger and frustrations. In fact, the president tweets so much that he even got the nickname “tweeter-in-chief.” Now, it has gotten so bad that Trump’s aides are calling for an “intervention.”
The Wall Street Journal reported that White House staff has announced an intervention to urge Trump to have some self-control on social media and told the president that his unhinged tweets could “paint him into a corner,” legally and politically.
One tweet in particular that came up was when he posted to Twitter back in March claiming that Trump Tower was wiretapped by President Barack Obama during the 2016 election with zero evidence.
Defending Trump’s claims, the White House rearranged his words to say that he could have been speaking about a wide range of surveillance activities of the Obama administration.
Let’s rewind to before Trump took the Oval Office. In November, he told 60 Minutes during an interview that, as president, he would be more reserved with his Twitter posts, saying:
‘I’m going to do very restrained. If I use it at all, I’m going to be very restrained.’
What a joke. It is about time someone calls for an intervention.
