JUST IN: ‘Single Article Of Impeachment’ To Be Filed Against Donald Trump

Sometimes the most courageous person in a group is the one who doesn’t go along just to get along, and has the guts to voice the unpopular opinion. With that in mind, multiple people are quoted as having said, “Stand up for what you believe in, even if it means you stand alone.”

Amid overwhelming calls for Donald Trump’s impeachment, and those calls only growing louder after he fired former F.B.I. Director, James Comey, the only person who was bold enough to stand before his D.C. lawmaking peers and formally move for Donald Trump’s impeachment process to begin. Knowing the possible ramifications of doing so, Rep. Al Green (D-TX) made an impassioned plea for support of his motion to impeach Donald Trump.

Although that announcement has led threats on Green’s and his family’s lives, he is unbought, unbothered, and not deterred. It has been about three weeks since Green made his case for starting impeaching proceedings against Donald Trump and it was starting to look as if no one would stand in solidarity with him.

Alas, better late than never, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) has now stepped forward to stay that he supports Congressman Green and will be working with him to draft articles of impeachment against Donald Trump. Green previously cited Trump’s removal of James Comey in the middle of an investigation against Trump, as the premise for his his stance.

With regard to his collaboration with Rep. Sherman, Green said:

‘The important thing is that you have two members of Congress who are drafting, or have drafted—to an extent—articles of impeachment.’

While there were a lot of hateful responses to news of Sherman working with Green, many were pleased to see someone willing to put people before party and politics:

Ironically, one of the reasons Sherman stepped forward to support Green is because of the threats Green and his family have been receiving. And while that shouldn’t be what it takes for Democrats and lawmakers in general to do what’s right, it’s good to see a sign of unity during this extremely volatile and important time in American and world history.
