The Trump clan claims that James Comey’s testimony somehow vindicated Donald Trump. In fact, Trump’s legal team is now framing his defense such that according to them, not only is he innocent, but he is the victim and James Comey should face charges of some sort.

Despite the spin Trump and those closest to him are trying to put on his alleged involvement with members of the Russian government, many Americans are still far from convinced that Donald Trump is innocent, let alone the victim of anything other than his own poor choices. With these citizens in mind, Congressmen Al Green (D-TX) and Brad Sherman (D-CA) announced last week that they’d be collaborating to begin the first stages of the impeachment process.

On Monday, Sherman started making good on his word. He tweeted:

As part of the statement on his website, Sherman made it very clear that he doesn’t believe that Articles of Impeachment will pass the House. However, he notes the importance of having such a measure on the record. He says:

‘I have no illusions.  Articles of Impeachment will not pass the House in the near future.  But given the risk posed to the Republic, we should move things forward as quickly as possible.’

Despite Sherman’s brutal honesty about impeachment prospects, people were still extremely pleased with the steps Sherman is taking. Many folks responded to and tweeted favorably about Sherman’s post:

The pair of tweets below remind about the importance of continuing to work towards and hope for Trump’s impeachment:

Some people called out the GOP for enabling the Trump administration:
