Trump Tweets Disgusting Response To ‘Georgia Special Election’ With Self Serving Message To America

Donald Trump spent some time and tweets promoting Georgia’s Republican candidate in the Sixth Congressional Districts. There was little doubt that Trump would be live-tweeting election results as a form of self-promotion.

For those keeping score, Trump congratulated himself eight minutes before congratulating Handel.

CNN is projecting the election to go to Handel by five points with 79 percent of precincts reporting.

The election was of particular interest as the first chance Democrats had of truly flipping a seat in Congress. Republicans have held the seat in that district since 1978 when Newt Gingrich was elected to the House of Representatives. A win there for Democrats would have sent a strong message to Congress that any support of Trump’s extremist policies on immigration and healthcare would threaten their jobs. A GOP win was projected to mean that voters were supportive of the Republican majority in Congress and that the resistance to Trump would not have much of an effect in 2018.

The close results of a race that Republicans won by almost 30 percent in 2012 does not entirely bode well for the GOP, but Trump will surely be crowing about Handel’s election. It won’t make him anymore liked.
