Earlier this year, television host Greta Van Susteren joined MSNBC, hosting a show in the daily 6 PM timeslot.
It was not to last.
On Thursday, she made a post to Twitter abruptly announcing her departure from the network.
She wrote, quite simply, “I am out at MSNBC.” Check it out below.
I am out at MSNBC –

Greta used to work at Fox News, joining MSNBC four months after leaving her old post. It’s not immediately clear what she will be doing now that she’s out of the job. Her daily 6 PM timeslot will be taken over by MSNBC’s chief legal correspondent Ari Melber, who has filled in for weeknight primetime hosts in the past. Melber’s new show will start up next month.
Some on Twitter felt that her prior association with the widely despised Fox News Channel didn’t help her during her time at MSNBC, which is, of course, generally on the opposite side of the spectrum from Fox.
Check out what Twitter thought of Van Susteren’s abrupt departure from MSNBC below.
That @FoxNews stench does not wash off easily.

MSNBC President Phil Griffin spoke positively of Greta following announcement of her departure, calling her “a well-regarded television veteran and one of only a few broadcasters who can say they’ve hosted shows at all three major cable news networks,” and adding that the network is “grateful to her and [wishes] her the best.”
