Morning Joe Leaks ‘Very Ugly Screaming Call’ With Trump That Shows Donald Is Guilty

The relationship between Donald Trump, Mika Brzezinski, and Joe Scarborough, is a long difficult, and sordid one to say the least. Most recently the world was stunned to read Trump’s sexist, vile, and highly inappropriate tweet-attack directed towards Brzezinski, but the trio hasn’t always been on the outs. In fact there was a time when the threesome’s NBC connection made them somewhat chummy.

Scarborough and Brzezinski readily admit that there was something of a friendship between them and Trump. With that said, they’re also quick to say that that cordial relationship is often overstated. According to Scarborough:

‘Maybe we had lunch with him five or six years ago, but, you know, it was always a run-and-gun thing. He’d always show up for our book parties; he was always very supportive there. He’d help us with fund-raisers when David Axelrod was raising money for Cure. Donald was very helpful there. We did a lot of stuff with AmeriCares, and we could always count on him being supportive on that.’

Insisting that their connection was primarily driven by their work for NBC, Scarborough and Brzezinski don’t have much of an explanation for the manner in which they often came to Trump’s defense after it was announced that he won the Electoral College. For, even during these times of pseudo supporting Trump, the pair had experienced major highs and lows in their own relationship with the commander-in-chief; those highs and lows almost always played out quite publicly.

Nevertheless, Joe and Mika continued their frienemy-type relationship with Trump. Brzezinski, whose father was once the national security adviser, claims she is responsible for the hiring of top Trump staffer, Dina Powell.

However, none of the above could prepare anyone for the deterioration of Joe and Mika’s relationship with the Trump administration, a deterioration that ultimately led to Trump’s gruesome attack on Mika.

Joe says things started going rapidly downhill after Trump’s first week in office. Trump and Scarborough had lunch at the White House. Trump asked Scarborough for feedback on the job Trump had done to that point and when Trump didn’t like the constructive answer Scarborough gave, Trump lost it.

Scarborough then details what he describes as an all out yelling match via phone. Scarborough and Brzezinski had been critical of Trump aide, Stephen Miller, and Trump wasn’t happy about it.

Scarborough says:

‘It went back and forth for 20 or 30 minutes and it was a very ugly call. He was screaming at me saying, “Why are you being so tough on this kid — I invited you to lunch at the White House, and you know I could have invited Sean Hannity.”‘

Scarborough didn’t appreciate the notion of Trump insinuating that he should get some kind of special treatment because he invited Scarborough to lunch, so he told Trump:

‘Well, invite Sean Hannity — we’re not going to be schmoozed because you gave us some fish.’

Since that call, it has been all bad for the relationship between Scarborough and Brzezinski, who once urged Americans to give Trump a chance. Their relationship with Trump seems to have gone past the point of no return and it appears that Trump’s verbal assault of Mika was a metaphoric declaration of war.

The White House didn’t respond to requests for comments regarding the claims Joe and Mika have made as part of this story.

A short, but powerful video that outlines some of the history behind Trump’s ongoing strained relationship with Joe and Mika, is below:
