Donald Trump is probably the biggest social weirdo to ever grace the White House, and he proved that Friday morning during a long-awaited meeting with Vladimir Putin. Trump either doesn’t know, or doesn’t care, that he is the laughing stock of the entire world, or that Putin himself thinks he’s a giant joystick from which he can control America.
Trump’s affinity for the way Putin does business (mass murder and all), is quite evident in the way that he talks about the ruthless Russian dictator. It wasn’t until today that we were able to see the president of the United States meet his idol, and what followed was something short of a tween meeting Justin Bieber.
Trump could not control himself, or his urge to continually reach out and touch the hem of Putin’s holy garment, and even though he tried his best to play it cool, Trump was utterly thrilled to be in the Russian leader’s presence. Just hours before the meeting, Trump tweeted this about meeting Putin:

Trump singled Putin out in his post about meeting world leaders today, leading many to believe he is overly excited for the Friday morning meet-and-greet. Below are some still frame images of the very first encounter; at least, the first one caught on camera anyway.

The video below really takes the cake though. Trump simply cannot resist the urge to touch Putin multiple times, as if to give the international symbol for “I’m on your side.” During the initial handshake, Trump reaches out and strokes Putin’s forearm, and then very shortly after, he gives him a pat on the back. Putin seemed pretty pleased with the meeting too; judging by the cheesy grin on his face.
The only thing missing was the aggressive “jerk” that Trump usually pulls to assert dominance over other politicians. Trump didn’t dare try that with Putin. The roles in this relationship have already been defined. We are just surprised Trump hasn’t started calling Putin “daddy” yet.
The social media reaction below is exactly what you’d expect from Americans. Check out the fury via Twitter:
