The New York Daily News is at it again this Monday, publishing a cover slamming Donald Trump Jr. for orchestrating a 2016 meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, himself, and two of the top individuals on his dad’s presidential campaign, Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort.
The original purpose that Trump Jr. provided for this meeting when pressed about it is that they discussed an adoption program during that meeting. However, as the New York Times kept digging, they found that Trump Jr. did not go into the meeting with Veselnitskaya with the expectation of talking about an adoption program. Rather, Trump Jr. went into that meeting with the expectation of receiving damaging information on Hillary Clinton. The real kicker is that Trump Jr. admitted to this being the purpose for his meeting, but he dismissed the significance of all of this because he says he didn’t actually receive any useful information from Veselnitskaya.
The New York Daily News cover on this story reads, in large, all capital letters: “KID PRO QUO.” The two bullet points below this title read, “Trump Jr. met Russia lawyer for Hillary dirt; Jared, Manafort joined preelex talk: report.”
Check it out below.
It remains the task of the office of Special Counsel for the Russia investigation Robert Mueller to uncover what, if anything, illegal went on at Trump Jr.’s meeting with Veselnitskaya.
