Trump Makes Bizarre & Potentially Illegal Afternoon Freakout Announcement Over Donald Jr

Just when one might think nothing else could come out regarding this Trump Jr./Russia collusion story to make the Trumps look worse — Donald Sr. finds a way to one up his son.

President Donald Trump is a questionable character, certainly, but a statement praising Donald Trump Jr. — for releasing the email correspondence which shows definitive proof he sought to collude with Russian government officials — seems a bit far-fetched, even for him. Yet Tuesday, during a press conference hosted by White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, that is exactly what happened. In the statement drafted by the president and read aloud by Huckabee-Sanders, Donald Trump Sr. asserted:

‘My son is a high-quality person, and I applaud his transparency.’

America likely feels differently. A high-quality person, Mr. President, would not have sought to collude with an unofficial operative for an often hostile foreign government to undermine democracy and in pursuit of power. Which is what Donald Trump Jr. admitted to by releasing those emails.

Sure, the suggestion is that Trump Jr. only released them because The New York Times was about to publish them, but that doesn’t make him transparent. On numerous occasions, countless Trump administration officials and family members went on the record with major networks to confirm that no one had any communications or connections with Russia and did not partake in any collusion of any kind to secure the desired result from the 2016 presidential election. That has now been proven false. This means that from June of 2016 to Tuesday, July 11th, Donald Trump Jr. has been anything but transparent.
