John McCain just released his first statement after announcing his battle with a brain tumor, which was removed last week. McCain received a massive outpouring of regards and well-wishes from people all over the world Wednesday, and his absence has been felt all across the country.
According to a statement from The Mayo Clinic:
“Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot. The Senator and his family are reviewing further treatment options with his Mayo Clinic care team. Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.”
Thursday, McCain reached out via his Twitter page to send thanks for all the kind messages he has received in the past 24 hours:
I greatly appreciate the outpouring of support – unfortunately for my sparring partners in Congress, I'll be back soon, so stand-by!
