The internet is a wonderful place. It makes it much, much harder to get away with things than it used to be. For instance, say that the president says something totally ludicrous and false? Even if his supporters seem willfully ignorant of the concept of reality at times, at least you’ve got Google search results to back you up — you know, just in case they decide to accept reality as real.
In the era of the Trump Administration, something as basic as the internet not only serves a de facto tool against factless ramblings from the president, it also serves to eternally preserve the racist goings on of him, his inner circle and his followers.
A Twitter account with the handle @TrumpsAlert provides alerts to its followers whenever the president, his wife, or one of his children does anything on Twitter. The alerts cover everything from when one of the Trumps follow someone to when they like a tweet.
Well, guess what? According to the @TrumpsAlert account, all of the president’s children seem to have unfollowed actress Marlee Matlin after she tweeted against the Nazis and white supremacists who gathered last weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia.
That massive gathering of white supremacists ended in the deaths of three people, one of whom — 32 year old Heather Heyer — was killed in a car ramming attack carried out by white supremacist James Fields against demonstrators who had come out to protest the white nationalists.
It should be easy to find it within yourself to condemn white supremacists. However, to the outrage of the world, the president did not “find it in himself” to do so.
Instead, Trump insisted that responsibility for the violence rests with “many sides.”
Actress Marlee Matlin is one of those who reacted with revulsion at the president’s remarks, writing on Twitter:
‘America fought seccesionists in Civil War, Nazis & anti-semites in WWII. Do we blame “both sides?” The answer is “no” then, and “no” NOW.’

A short while after Matlin’s tweet, @TrumpsAlert sent out the alert that all three of Trump’s children were no longer following her, as documented by Twitter user @MrJamesonNeat.

The individual behind @TrumpsAlert explained that Marlee Matlin may have no longer appeared on the Trump kids’ following lists because she blocked them — but, of course, it may be because they unfollowed her.
