Shortly after news broke about President Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon leaving the White House, it was revealed that Bannon would be returning to work at Breitbart, the conservative news site for which he used to be an executive.
Along with the news of Bannon’s new job came rumors from his friends about his plans to use the site to attack Trump and his administration. One insider even said that Breitbart has plans to go “thermonuclear” on the White House.
It seems this news has got Trump a little worried. The president posted the following tweet on Saturday afternoon, praising Bannon and congratulating him on returning to his old post:
Steve Bannon will be a tough and smart new voice at @BreitbartNews…maybe even better than ever before. Fake News needs the competition!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 19, 2017
Many people commented on Trump’s post and suggested that he’s scared of what will be shared about him and his administration now that Bannon is out of the White House.
