The Sarah Palin saga continues, just when we thought Donald Trump’s brilliant spotlight had cast a shadow over everyone else and dimmed her light. It seems that the former half-term Alaska governor sued the New York Times over an editorial that she claimed had her playing a character something like Annie Oakley, but worse.
John McCain’s running mate in 2008 decided that one the the Times‘ editorials somehow gave the impression that Palin caused someone to shoot Gabby Giffords. Severely mentally ill Jared Lee Joudner nearly killed the the Democratic representative from Arizona in 2011.
New York Times reporter Benjamin Weiser tweeted that Judge Rakoff dismissed Palin’s lawsuit “with prejudice.” He wrote that the judge said added:
‘Nowhere is political journalism so free, so robust, or perhaps so rowdy as in United States.’
