Kellyanne Conway, who will most famously be remembered for her “alternative facts,” has been on a Twitter campaign against reputable news outlets for some time now. The media is so biased, so dishonest, and so determined to undermine the Trump administration that they are, according to Conway’s assessment, blinded to the facts about how wonderful and successful Trump is and how evil and corrupt the Democrats are.
So determined to prove the “biased” mainstream media is lying about Donald Trump, Conway retweeted an article from The Daily Caller on Tuesday regarding an article from The New York Times on the current scandal surrounding Bob Menendez (D-NJ).
Noting the misstep once it was pointed out, The New York Times apologized and corrected the omission. Not yet satisfied with herself, Conway continued to push the story on Thursday by retweeting The Washington Examiner.
Therein lies the utter irony of Conway’s Twitter campaign against The New York Times. The Times recognized the omission, apologized, and corrected the story. It is nearly impossible to imagine sites like The Daily Caller or The Washington Examiner doing the same.
To accused every other media outlet of being biased is also a bit of the pot calling the kettle black. Both sites retweeted by Conway are noted Trump shills who make no apologies for their bias toward Trump. Apparently, that type of bias is just fine with Kellyanne Conway.
The Washington Examiner has published such inaccurate and biased reporting like obviously misleading poll numbers that favor Trump and criticize Democrats, such as one from Wednesday entitled “Boom: 70% of Obama voters who switched to Trump still approve.”
‘The Democracy Fund Voter Study Group reported that 70 percent of the ticket switchers still approve of the job Trump is doing, despite constant attacks from Democrats and even Obama.’
The Daily Caller, whose accurate description is closer to outrage porn than anything resembling news, published an article on Tuesday with the headline “Barack Obama Is Stalking Trump’s Policy Agenda” which included the following gem:
‘Abandoning the precedent set by previous presidents, former President Barack Obama has consistently undermined his successor’s policy agenda and has spoken out against virtually all of the major pillars of President Donald Trump’s domestic policy agenda.’
Perhaps the next time Conway wants to point out media bias, she should skip retweeting obviously biased sources to support her argument.
