After Hurricane Harvey tore through Texas, President Trump received a lot of backlash for his minimal efforts to support or reach out to those in the affected areas. President Trump has claimed time and time again that climate change isn’t a real concern, but it seems now he is whistling a different tune on both fronts.
Trump tweeted out a message accompanied by a video on Saturday, urging those in the path of Hurricane Irma to listen to anything officials say. He also acknowledged that the storm held great power, and could do some serious damage. This is a lot more of a reaction than was seen from the president as Hurricane Harvey ravaged the country.
This is a storm of enormous destructive power, and I ask everyone in the storm’s path to heed ALL instructions from government officials. pic.twitter.com/nJfM2Sdme1
