Leonardo DiCaprio Just Responded To Trump’s Climate Change Stance Like A Boss

As another hurricane grows to a massive Category 5 strength, the whole notion of climate change being a real thing seems to be more plausible to some. Of course, to others, it’s still a liberal hoax concocted by their leader, former President Barack Obama. Regardless, this year’s hurricane season is undeniable proof that climate change is real and can have devastating effects.

With that knowledge, it’s understandable many are angry with the Republicans who continue to deny climate change’s existence and effects. One such individual is mega-celebrity, A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio. One of his main causes he promotes is climate change.

He appeared at a conference, held by former Secretary of State John Kerry, and spoke of the devastation brought on by climate change. In his speech, he named names and called out President Donald Trump for his moves on pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord.

‘… we listened as they said that these powerful hurricanes that we see with Harvey and Irma did not change the president’s mind about climate change. I still believe that the United States has the potential to lead the world on this issue. We can only hope that the president begins to see it too before it is too late for all of us.

This utter lack of leadership by officials who choose first to preserve their short-term political power rather than ensuring the livable future on our planet means that we must all do more now than any other time in human history.’

He pointed out legitimate scientific findings have shown, in the past, that climate change is real. Those findings have been presented multiple times to leaders.

‘The intergovernmental panel on climate change or the IPCC is made up of scientists from every country on earth including the two biggest polluters the United States and China. This renowned body presents their unanimous, peer-reviewed findings to world leaders, to UN agencies, and when they have the trends have been nothing short of grim.’

He went on to point out that after the horrible natural disasters as of late time is up.

‘Time is up. The current events have become a global wake-up call that must be heard all the way from you to the private sector, all the way to Washington, D.C. It is too late for any of us to be too timid, or too ignorant, or too silent. We all have to take action together now.’

Of course, we don’t expect President Donald Trump to listen to Leo. We also don’t expect any Republican official to listen to a celebrity since they take such major issues with celebrities having opinions. However, Leo’s words should serve as inspiration for everyone to advocate for a better world for the future generations.
