‘President’ Trump Continues Attack On NFL With Childish Saturday Twitter Rampage

The president continued his Friday night attack on the NFL with an angry Saturday afternoon Twitter tirade.

On Friday, while speaking to a crowd assembled to support the candidacy of Luther Strange for a U.S. Senate seat from Alabama, Trump said that the “sons of bitches” who refuse to stand during the national anthem should be immediately called off the field. Players have popularized doing so as a protest against racial injustice in the U.S.

On Saturday, our president, who is apparently no longer interested in even trying to hide his racism, continued on with his train of thought, tweeting:

‘If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU’RE FIRED. Find something else to do!’

The president is, quite simply, in no position to determine what is and what is not protected free speech, and neither is he in any position to pick and choose those in the private sector who get to keep their jobs or not.

Additionally, players refusing to stand during the anthem is not an issue of respecting the flag — it’s one of sticking up for the disadvantaged of the United States.
