President Trump has found himself in the news a lot lately for his multiple stabs at professional athletes, specifically, their choice to kneel during the national anthem. From calling Colin Kaepernick a “Bitch,” to telling Stephen Curry he is no longer welcome at the white house, Trump has not been making any friends within the sports world.
Players on the Jacksonville Jaguar and Baltimore Ravens sidelines linked arms, and some kneeled, during “The Star-Spangled Banner,” prior to the beginning of the game, taking place at Wembley Stadium in Long on Sunday. The players were standing in solidarity after President Trump stated that players who do not stand for the national anthem should be fired.
It seems, however, that the president was too dense to realize that this was an act of protest, and commended the teams on Twitter. The president reiterated his usual message that it was unacceptable to kneel, but deemed standing with locked arms to be perfectly acceptable and a show of solidarity.
What Trump seems to be in the dark about, is the fact that they are in solidarity… against him.
Twitter users were quick to point that out for the president, as well as condemn him for his unpresidential behavior as of late. You can view some of the Twitter responses to the president’s unintelligent tweet below.
