Lately, Donald Trump, presumably bored with fighting with the media and politicians, has decided to take on the NFL over Colin Kaepernick’s decision to protest racial injustice in America by taking a knee during the national anthem. Since then, other players, and even whole teams, have joined in solidarity with Kaepernick. Trump and his supporters argue that those protesting during the anthem are disrespecting America, but Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Greenbay Packers, took to Twitter and Instagram to point out the absurdity of Trump’s logic.
Rodgers also took his comments to Twitter, where he received an interesting mix of responses. Some were supportive of him, while others disagreed. Amusingly, one of those who disagreed included two typos in his post, continuing the proud conservative tradition of poor literacy.
There was also a strange religious argument over whether or not Jesus would support the protestors.
Beyond those, there were also the standard messages of support, mixed in with a few angry conservatives.
