Do you ever look at the current White House clown show and wish for calmer days with competent leadership, when the president wasn’t constantly in the news for insulting people on Twitter?
If so, nostalgia warning – if you miss President Obama now, you’re going to miss him even more once you scroll down. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Today, former Vice President Joe Biden and President Obama reunited at the Invictus Games in Toronto, also appearing with Prince Harry, who is a good friend of President Obama. Melania Trump, who appeared with Prince Harry earlier this week in an awkward photo opportunity, is representing Team USA, but considering the role President Obama played in promoting the Invictus Games during his presidency, it’s not a surprise he showed up to lend his support. Here’s more from The Telegraph:
‘Mr Obama chanted “USA, USA” as they made their way to watch the US vs France game, as the pair shook hands with Invictus volunteers and shocked members of the crowd. As they entered the main arena and sat in the front row, small children flocked to have their moment in the spotlight.
‘A spokesman for Mr Obama said the former president wished to lend his support to American competitors “to once again express his gratitude for their service and his admiration for their courage and resilience.”
‘It was a hero’s return for Mr Obama to the Invictus Games, after he helped raise its profile in an extraordinary video series last year.’
Photos and videos of the two of them together, and with Team USA, have been making the rounds on social media:

The current administration can be described in a single word: chaos. With that in mind, it’s not too surprising that the replies on the tweets above are mostly full of people expressing joy at seeing these two reunited — it’s a reminder of a more peaceful time with more capable leaders. Seeing President Obama and Joe Biden talking and laughing together is a reminder of what was, which is a comfort in the turbulent times we now find ourselves in.
Here are some of the responses they got:
President Obama is still beloved by much of the country. His approval rating when leaving office remains much higher than Trump’s is now, and as the out-of-control dumpster fire that is the Trump administration continues to do its dumpster fire thing, consuming everything around it, it’s likely that more and more people will start feeling nostalgic for President Obama. It seems that all too many people in this nation took a having a semblance of sanity in the White House for granted.
