Ever since Donald Trump took office back in January, he started out hopeful with some sort of hope of a decent approval rating. However, as each month passes and each poll rolls out, the proof becomes clearer and clearer that Americans are growing sick of Donald Trump.
In yet ANOTHER poll released by the Associated Press/NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, Trump’s approval rating has dropped EVEN lower. They reported:
‘Presidential approval remains on a downward trend. Thirty-two percent of Americans say they approve of the way President Trump is handling his job and 67 percent disapprove’
That means his approval rating has dropped from 42 percent in March to 32 percent in October all within eight months. You can expect to hear Trump throw a tantrum (most likely on Twitter) calling the poll fake, though.
Furthermore, the poll dug deeper into the feelings of Americans asking if Trump understood their needs. Only 17 percent reported believing he understood their needs “moderately well.” A whopping 64 percent, however, felt he doesn’t understand them “not very well” or “not well at all.”
Additionally, they were asked if they felt he was a strong leader, honest, and level-headed. The findings matched the trends of the other findings.
‘Twenty-six percent believe President Trump is a strong leader, 23 percent view him as honest, and 16 percent say he is level-headed. Republicans are most likely to use each of these terms to describe the president.’
The poll also found that not many feel America is headed in the right direction. With only 24 percent saying they feel like the U.S. is headed towards the right direction, the faith of the American people is continually dwindling. Back in March, 37 percent felt the country was headed in the right direction. That’s a 10 percent drop in eight months.
Republicans in Congress did not receive good news either. Eighty-one percent were found to disapprove of the way Congress is doing its job. Also, 51 percent of that 81 percent STRONGLY disapprove.
The methodology of the poll included:
‘The nationwide poll was conducted September 28-October 2, 2017 using the AmeriSpeak Panel, the probability-based panel of NORC at the University of Chicago. Online and telephone interviews using landlines and cell phones were conducted with 1,150 adults. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.’
How long will it take for the truth to really sink in? These poll numbers aren’t fake. They show a continuing death spiral for the Republican Party and Donald Trump. If Republicans want to retain any sort of majority in the 2018 elections, they better start studying these polls and fast.
