‘The university reported the alleged shooting at 8:23 p.m. on Twitter. The campus is on lockdown and students, faculty and staff were urged to take shelter…The shooter remains at large, the university said. No description of the person has been released.’

Other news reports say that there may be two shooters at large. Others are reporting that a campus officer has died.

Details will continue to be updated here as they are confirmed.

10:11 PM EST Local news sources in Dallas have now confirmed that one university police officer was shot and killed.

10:22 PM EST One suspect has been named and remains at large. The suspect is 19-year-old Hollis A. Daniels.

The shooter is confirmed to be a student at Texas Tech.

‘Texas Tech police made a welfare check at a student’s room earlier in the night and found evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia, university spokesman Chris Cook said.
