Trump is having probably the worst Wednesday of his political career after the story of fallen soldier La David Johnson went viral. Congresswoman Frederica Wilson revealed to the media that she was sitting next to the widow of La David Johnson when she got a phone call from a very crass President Trump.
According to Wilson, Trump was very disrespectful, even saying that Johnson “knew what he was signing up for, but I guess it hurts anyway.”
Since then, Trump and the White House have come out with various statements, including one where Trump claimed to have spoken to the family of every fallen soldier.
Now, the father of another fallen soldier is speaking out to the Washington Post, and he is furious with Trump’s lies about his son.
According to WaPo:
“Euvince Brooks’s son, Sgt. Roshain E. Brooks, 30, was killed Aug. 13 in Iraq. He has not heard from the White House. The president’s claim this week that he had called every military family to lose a son or daughter only upset the Brooks family more.”
Brooks says that he now wants to create an account on Twitter for no other reason than to call out the president’s lies. He recalls:
“I said to my daughter, ‘Can you teach me to tweet, so I can tweet at the president and tell him he’s a liar?’” he said. “You know when you hear people lying, and you want to fight? That’s the way I feel last night. He’s a damn liar.”
Could it be the sound of Roshain Brooks’ name that got him booted from Trump’s list of phone calls?
