President Trump has been getting a lot of criticism recently regarding his severely delayed response to the deaths of four U.S. Green Berets who were killed during an attack in Niger. He’s been hit particularly hard by Rep. Frederica Wilson, who has bashed him repeatedly for the unsympathetic remarks he made during a phone call to Myeshia Johnson, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson.
While much of the country isn’t pleased with the way the president has handled this tragedy, others have stuck by him, including conservative reporter and talk show host Geraldo Rivera.
During a Friday morning appearance on Fox & Friends, Rivera complained about the negative comments Trump has received lately from Wilson and others.
‘To take the president’s condolence call to the widow and make that like everything else, it’s just like everything else, and at some point you’ve got to think where’s the dignity? Have you no shame?’
Happy to see somebody sticking up for him, Trump tweeted a clip from the segment in response to Rivera’s comments on Friday afternoon and added the following caption:
‘Thank you @GeraldoRivera @FoxandFriends. Agree!’

While the president’s post did receive a couple of compliments, the majority of its comments came from people who wish he would just resign already.
Friday morning wasn’t the first time Rivera has defended Trump on Fox & Friends. He also criticized the media recently for its “dishonest” reporting of the steps Trump took to help the people of Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria hit the island.
‘He has been getting the worst, most dishonest press about his visit to Puerto Rico. It is staggering to me how unfair — how grotesquely unfair — the reporting has been.’
