Tuesday, Senator Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) stood up, announced he would not be seeking reelection, and then proceeded to tell America and his colleagues in the Senate just how he really felt about President Donald Trump. It was brutal. It was amazing. We’ve watched it multiple times and cheer every time.
Wednesday, he appeared on NBC’s The Today Show and revealed he did not vote for Trump during the election. He also was sure to note he did not vote for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. He commented:
‘I am a Republican. I am a conservative. I would love to have a Republican president, but not at any cost.’
Specifically, Lauer asked Flake if he thought Clinton would have made a better president. He danced around the question and never answered it.
‘I can tell you no president, Democrat or Republican in recent memory has exhibited the kind of behavior that this president has.’

Specifically, on Tuesday he called out the president for his toxic behavior and the GOP’s willingness to accept it as the “new normal.”
‘Regret for the compromise of our moral authority, and by our, I mean all of our complicity in this alarming and dangerous state of affairs. It is time for our complicity and our accommodation of the unacceptable to end. In this century, a new phrase has entered the language to describe the accommodation of a new and undesirable order, that phrase being the new normal.’
Some users on Twitter applauded the notion that Flake refused to vote for Trump during the 2016 election. However, many others called him a coward for refusing to acknowledge whether he voted for Clinton or not. Additionally, Trump supporters missed the entire point of his speech and still blindly love them some Trumpikins.
