CNN’s Don Lemon received a death threat in which racial slurs were used while the anonymous twitter user threatened to stab the host in the neck.
A police report obtained by TMZ reveals that on Wednesday CNN host Don Lemon filed an aggravated harassment report with the NYPD after a Twitter user threatened to stab Lemon “in the neck” on top of calling him racial slurs.
The CNN host received the disgusting threat from a White Nationalist Trump supporter following a broadcast during which Lemon read an open letter to Donald Trump about the way he handled his conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, a pregnant gold star widow with two small children.
A spokesperson for the NYPD said that the incident happened on Tuesday and told People magazine:
‘It was harassment and they also made a threat. The person said, “I will find you real soon.” And called Lemon a f—ing n-word. It’s being investigated at this time.’
One of the threatening tweets read:
‘U r a pile of rotting dogsh*t,racist,communist,socialist, Liberal moron a**hole.i will find u U will pay.ill see u real soon.’
Another message from the same user read:
‘F*** you n***** can’t wait to stab your neck.’
The police spokesperson said that the investigation could ultimately be considered a hate-crime investigation.
The user @ljeff4trump2 described himself on his profile as:
‘white nationalist conservative. pro gun anti islam anti terrorist anti leftist yes i HATE demorats, blm, antifa, socialists. heavily armed racist.WLM.’
This threat towards Lemon comes after the FBI arrested a man several months ago who is accused of purposely and maliciously triggering an epileptic seizure for Kurt Eichenwald, a political writer by sending him a video of a strobe light, saying:
‘You deserve a seizure for this post.’
The man responsible for actually causing Eichenwald to have a seizure, John Rayne Ravello, was charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a charge that also carried a hate-crime designation. Eichenwald’s wife posted to his Twitter account and warned the black-hearted Trump supporter that she’d contacted the authorities.
