Though President Trump has lost a lot of supporters during his time so far as president, the ones he still has are fiercely loyal. A lot of the remaining followers of the United States president are willing and eager to believe anything Trump says, and back everything the president does.
While many Americans are worried about the president’s relations with Russia, supporters of Trump fully believe him when he says he has absolutely no connections to Russia, and claims of collusion are obscene. Apparently, one Trump supporter believes what comes out of the president’s mouth to such a strong degree that he would be more apt to believe President Trump than Jesus himself.
CNN‘s Alisyn Camerota put together an interview with multiple Americans who had voted for president Trump to get a feel for their support levels one year after Trump’s presidential election win. While we knew Trump supporters were mindless followers, one of the Trump voters told Camerota that if Jesus Christ himself came to him and told him that the president was involved with Russia he would not be inclined to believe him.

A Trump voter by the name of Mark Lee, owner of his own pest control company, told Camerota that he believes “the swamp is horrible,” prompting Camerota to point out that the Trump administration is stocked full of very wealthy men. Lee, however, saw no problem with this, stating that in fact, he loves it because they’re not politicians because they’re there for the little guy, adding, “In a capitalist system, you’re allowed to make money. Being rich is good.”
Lee clarified what he meant when he referred to “the swamp”, explaining that he believes that “the swamp” is the mainstream, elites in society who look down on the average American, and members of Congress. If Lee really believes that the president is looking out for the little guy, perhaps he has never heard Trump talk about poor people as though they are second rate citizens.
Finally, in an unwavering display of support for the president, Lee stated:
‘If Jesus Christ gets down off the cross and told me Trump is with Russia, I would tell him, ‘Hold on a second. I need to check with the President if it’s true.’
Lee’s comment registered visual shock in the CNN hosts, with Camerota almost laughing, as she asks Lee why he would believe the president over everyone, let alone Jesus Christ. Lee’s answer was simple:
‘I believe him. He’s a good man. And he’s taken so much shots for us.’
Lee went on to tell Camerota that he has so much love and support for the president that whenever Trump comes to Mar-a-Lago you can find Lee outside with a sign, reading “Blacks For Trump.”
Twitter users were just as outraged and shocked by Lee’s comments, as not many would say they’d believe a fallible human man over Jesus Christ. You can see some of the responses below.
