One of Donald Trump’s chief talents is complaining. He’s very good at it. It might seem like he has more to complain about now that he’s in office, but really, his complaints are just more visible. When it comes to complaining, Trump has been polishing his art at a master’s level for decades.
The focus today is Trump’s complaints about President Obama, specifically when it comes to golfing. Trump’s deep understanding of racist old white folks in the United States led him to focus on that as a good wedge issue to drum up support for himself. After all, nobody likes executive excess. Nobody thinks that the President of the United States should golf all the time. Plus, focusing on that issue helps racist-but-guilty people feel like they’re right for thinking President Obama was lazy. It gave their stereotyping and prejudice a focus which allowed them to deny the underlying reality.
On that note, Trump is golfing today for the fifth day in a row at his Palm Beach golf club. This is his 103rd day at a Trump property since being elected a year ago, and 81st to a golf club. He’s spent more than two and a half months playing golf (the exact number of Trump’s golfing outings is unknown because of the work he often goes through to hide whether or not he’s golfing, so most numbers are a range).
Before becoming the president, Trump tweeted more than 25 times about President Obama’s golf habit (Obama has yet to tweet about Trump’s):
Notably, Donald Trump has golfed so much during his presidency that it’s hard to think of a tragedy he hasn’t golfed during or after. Shootings, deaths of soldiers, and on it goes. Just this morning he defended an alleged child molester before hitting the golf course, essentially saying “at least he’s not a Democrat.”
As opposed to 2017, when we now pay the president his salary while he golfs, and then the taxpayers pay his businesses on top of it.
This four-year-old tweet is especially hilarious looking back, because now Trump golfs three times more often than President Obama did in office.
Trump played golf yesterday?? And the day before??? And the day before??? And the day before??? (Yes.)
“Watch Russia closely.” Was this a 2014 cry for help?

He didn’t drop the criticism there, either. On the campaign trail, he continued, actually making campaign promises that he would not golf. Watch below:
Of course, he’s not nearly as slick as he thinks he is. For many Americans, they see the blatant hypocrisy and are calling it out for what it is. Via Twitter:
The laziest and most hypocritical President ever. https://t.co/ichwSwtyqo

Trump’s golfing habit is only part of the problem. After all, it’s Thanksgiving weekend. While five days of golf in a row may seem excessive (many people with regular jobs have already returned to work, after all, and being the president is a 24/7 position), there are bigger concerns to be had. What’s worth highlighting here is his complete, blatant hypocrisy. Trump is just as disgusting a politician as any of the “Washington insiders” he tries to attack.
For him, nothing actually matters. It’s all just politics. He’ll attack Barack Obama for something for years, then turn around and do it himself. He’ll criticize sexual harassers on the left, but supports molesters and has implicated himself in sexual assault (which witnesses then came forward to corroborate. The White House, of course, says that all outstanding allegations against Trump are lies).
Trump, do us all a favor and resign. Then you can golf as much as you’d like without criticism.
