The world has watched as the Mueller investigation has grown more and more complex. What began as suspicions that the Trump Campaign may have colluded with russia in order to skew the results of the election in favor of Trump, has grown into a captivating investigation.
Now, Mueller has a surplus of evidence against Paul Manafort. It is reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has 100,000 pages of financial records against Manafort.
Mueller will share these documents with defense attorneys by this coming Monday. Muller has been extensively involved in investigating Paul Manafort. He has been granted 15 search warrants, and is looking into the involvement of several bank accounts to see if they are linked to Trump or to the Russians.
The bank accounts are located in the Grenadines, Cyprus, and Saint Vincent. in total, more than 400,000 documents have been obtained by Mueller, to be used against Manafort in the court of law. In addition to this, Muller has acquired a total of 36 electronic devices that will aid in Manafort’s conviction.
It was reported earlier this week, that Manafort had violated the terms of his bail. It is reported that Manafort was working on an opinion editorial that would be included in a Ukrainian publication. However, Manafort continues to deny these claims. Prosecutors argued:
‘The editorial clearly was undertaken to influence the public’s opinion of defendant Manafort, or else there would be no reason to seek its publication (much less for Manafort and his long-time associate to ghostwrite it in another’s name).’
First, eyebrows were raised when Donald Trump somehow won over Hillary Clinton, who was the expected winner of the 2016 Presidential Election. Even just the day before the election took place, reputable news networks such as the Associated Press and the NPR predicted that Hillary would win. After Trump assumed office, many people continued to assert that Trump simply did not have the numbers to have won the 2016 election. James Comey was tasked with spearheading the investigation into possible collusion with Russia. When Comey was abruptly fired by the president, speculations that corrupt activity may have occurred only intensified.
When Comey was replaced by Robert Mueller, the latter opened an obstruction of justice case against the president.
The investigation became extremely intense when the first charges were pressed against Paul Manafort, who is Trump’s former campaign chairman, and Rick Gates.
Later, Michael Flynn, Trump’s former National Security Adviser was charged with making fraudulent statements to to FBI. That same day, Flynn pleaded guilty to the charge.
The fact that Mueller has so much dirt on Paul Manafort makes the whole investigation more severe. The Mueller investigation is knocking Trump’s associates down one by one. Donald Jr, is also a person of interest because he has had questionable interactions with the Russians as well. Trump Jr. himself released the full list of exchange of Twitter DMs he’d shared with WikiLeaks, a group the Clinton campaign routinely referred to as “pro-Russian.” In addition to this, Donald Jr. attend a meeting with a Russian lawyer who was supposedly going to provide him with dirt on Hillary Clinton.
Now things are looking especially sour for Paul Manafort.
