CNN reports that sources believe this meeting stands out in significance because it comes following completion of the interview process with White House personnel and all requested documents have been received. Mueller’s team will likely request more information of the president and vice president.

Sources that spoke to CNN said that the president’s legal team are hopeful that the upcoming meeting means that the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller is coming to a somewhat fruitless end, at least where Trump and Pence are concerned.

Evan Perez, a reporter at CNN, said that the much anticipated meeting could take place as early as next week.
