White House physician Ronny Jackson conducted Mr. Trump’s yearly physical on Friday. Afterwards, he stated that the president is “in excellent health.” What is not clear is what constitutes “excellent health” under his assessment or whether he truly conducted a full physical.
Despite the urging from dozens of doctors and mental health professionals, it doesn’t seem that any mental health tests were conducted as part of the physical. The joint letter stated:
‘As medical and mental health professionals, we are fully aware that a diagnosis can only be made by an evaluating physician. In our professional judgment, the growing concern over President Trump’s health is not only reasonable, but essential considering the office that he holds and the grave responsibilities and extensive powers of this public office.’
According to CNN:
‘While reviews of the past five presidents’ physical exams show only a brief mention of mental health and none of the records includes a readout of the mental health tests, this letter points out that mental evaluations are routine during physicals, particularly for patients who are 66 or older. Trump is 71.
‘Without performing an evaluation of this kind, President Trump would be receiving care that is inadequate to the standard care regularly administered to millions of Americans covered by Medicare. Equally important, without this evaluation, the American people will not have a clear understanding about the health and well-being of the President, which is essential for Americans to know of any president.’
‘100% of the people around the President believes he’s incapable of carrying out the duties of office.’
‘Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart.’
‘Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?’
