White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders treats the press corps like children, talking down at her very best. At worst, she is insulting. Yet, it appears that the words finally exacted their revenge on Trump’s main word woman.
Sanders is the daughter of former presidential candidate, former Arkansas governor, and preacher Mike Huckabee. She also has three of her own children. The two boys and one girl are ages 5, 3, and 2. On The View, she said that having children prepared her well for her current job, calling them the “perfect foundation” for her job.
Financial journalist, Ben White, tweeted a classic response to Sanders:
‘When the briefing is done all WH reporters must also put their toys away and sit criss-cross applesauce.’
The 35-year-old woman refers to her children and the press in this comment.
‘I get to answer the same questions all day long. And I’ve gotten pretty good at saying “No.”‘
The View co-host Joy Behar asked Sanders’ father, according to Deadline Hollywood:
‘(How) can let your daughter (defend Trump after he)Â said some horrifying things about women?’
Huckabee defended Trump, saying that the president:
‘Also has empowered a lot of women, (including his daughter’s) incredible opportunity.’
Last Thanksgiving, Sanders forced the correspondents to say what they were thankful for, according to Newsweek. She started the briefing by telling the group and the cameras what she was thankful for first, then:
‘This is how it’s going to work today.’

Sara Murray of CNN brushed past Sanders’ order and went right into her question, but then Associate Press’ Zeke Miller tried it. Sanders told the reporter that he broke “the rule” for the day’s briefing.
POLITICO’s Angela Greiling Keane tweeted what she was “thankful for:’
‘I’m thankful to have never sat through a White House press briefing where I was expected to say what I was thankful for.’
It comes as no surprise that Sanders used her official White House Twitter account to deal with both the press and issues involving her children. The press secretary tweeted to Amazon with a major complaint that involved her two-year-old son. It is possible that she thought the White House account would carry more weight against Amazon.
It seemed that her child ordered an $80 Batman toy using Echo, so she tweeted:
‘Alexa, we have a problem if my 2 year old can order a Batman toy by yelling “Batman!” over and over again into Echo.’
The Amazon Echo is a voice-controlled piece of equipment that lets users of the Alexa app order online Amazon products simply by talking to it.
The company confirmed the purchase of a $79.99 “Batman vs. Superman” action figure. The toy is made by Sure Things Toys. On the up side, Batman should arrive by Tuesday.
It goes without saying that children should not be able to make expensive purchases via Amazon’s Echo device before they can read.
