Donald Trump has a new top adviser – Fox News. Apparently, the cable network goes in one ear, through his “big brain,” and out of his mouth – intact. The ultra-conservative media propaganda situation has become dangerous.
Sinclair Broadcasting has over 173 news outlets in 80 markets, in other words, local stations. It just forced its anchors to read verbatim a propaganda piece that attacks traditional network and cable stations. Trump was undermining the credibility of the unbiased news, when he called it “a total joke:”
‘So funny to watch Fake News Networks, among the most dishonest groups of people I have ever dealt with, criticize Sinclair Broadcasting for being biased. Sinclair is far superior to CNN and even more Fake NBC, which is a total joke.’
The sitting president does not like Amazon, because the man who started it, Jeff Bezos, also owns The Washington Post. True to form, Trump attacked Amazon with the lie that the U.S. Post Office has been losing money by working with Amazon.
That is blatantly false. The Post Office makes money with Amazon. It has been losing money because the government installed a ridiculous law that forced this staple of American culture to pay for its employees’ retirement up front.
The reason? Republicans’ strategy is to underfund an organization, claim it is failing, then make the case it needs to be prioritized. Trump called doubters “fools:”
‘Only fools, or worse, are saying that our money losing Post Office makes money with Amazon. THEY LOSE A FORTUNE, and this will be changed. Also, our fully tax paying retailers are closing stores all over the country…not a level playing field!’
