Donald Trump isn’t exactly a sensitive man, so it comes as no surprise that he would act in such a callous way just three days after the matriarch of the Bush family passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones. The White House just announced that the president will be skipping Barbara Bush’s funeral just because.
Someone from the family will be representing the White House, however. Poor Melania is stuck going all alone.
Melania likely knows next to nothing about the Bush family, or any other big family in politics, other than the Clintons.
WH says Melania Trump will attend Barbara Bush funeral on behalf of the First Family. "To avoid disruptions due to added security, and out of respect for the Bush Family and friends attending the service, President Trump will not attend.”

According to the Twitter account for Associated Press’ Ken Thomas, the president is not attending because he didn’t want to disrupt the services. Because obviously, if The Donald shows up, no one would even care that Barbara Bush died. According to the White House:
“To avoid disruptions due to added security, and out of respect for the Bush Family and friends attending the service, President Trump will not attend.”
The last time a sitting president attended the funeral of a former First Lady was JFK, who paid his respects to the Roosevelt family upon the passing of Eleanor.
The internet’s reaction to Thomas’ tweet is pretty much what you’d expect. Check out some of them below via Twitter:
