The president is still angry about the recent attempt of a “caravan” of people from Central America to make it into the United States, most of whom planned to seek asylum upon their arrival.

He rehashed his anger while speaking at a Saturday night rally in Washington Township, Michigan, which he held on the same night as the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner. He’s now skipped that event two years in a row and it would be a wonder if he decided to go to any of the rest of the installments of the event held during his administration.

Speaking to a conventionally riled up crowd, the president lambasted American immigration policy, which is apparently too humanly decent for him. He wants it tougher; it seems as though he believes that the answer to all of America’s problems is enacting harsh penalties against struggling individuals like undocumented immigrants who pose absolutely no threat to the United States whatsoever.

He commented:

‘To protect our families, we must secure our borders, and the good thing about the caravan — people are watching… We want Mexico to help us, and we have to demand it, but Mexico’s going to help us, but there’s still hundreds of people, out of maybe two thousand there’s still hundreds of people, and our laws are so corrupt, and so stupid, that I call them the dumbest immigration laws anywhere on earth.’

In the past, the president has railed against so-called “catch and release” policies that allow undocumented immigrants facing hearings to remain outside of detention while they wait. He would prefer, apparently, as many undocumented immigrants to face harsh law enforcement practices as possible.
