Correspondents’ Dinner Comedian Responds To Overwhelming Outrage At Her Set

Donald Trump has to be used to people belittling or making fun of him. It happens all day long on the news stations, at night on the late night talk shows, at comedy clubs, on Facebook and Twitter, in congress ,and even by those working in the White House. He’s such a big joke that everyone seems to want to get a dig in against him. If he wasn’t such a whiny crybaby that he had to skip the White House Correspondents’ Dinner–again–he would have been there to hear comedian Michelle Wolf roast him and a lot of those in his administration.

At Saturday night’s dinner Wolf really laid into Trump, Mike Pence, Ivanka, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the media and even several Democrats. She’s caused quite the stir and has drawn criticism from conservatives and some journalists that she went too far. But does she regret anything she said that night? The answer is no. She was a guest on NPR’s Fresh Air today and she said,

‘I wouldn’t change a single word that I said. I’m very happy with what I said, and I’m glad I stuck to my guns. I don’t pull punches,’ she added. ‘I’m not afraid to talk about things. And I don’t think they expected that from me.’

A lot of conservatives thought she was too rough on Sarah Huckabee Sanders in particular.

‘I actually really like Sarah. I think she’s very resourceful. But she burns facts and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smokey eye. Like, maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies’.

‘Is it Sarah Sanders? Is it Sarah Huckabee Sanders? Is it Cousin Huckabee? Is it Auntie Huckabee Sanders? Like, what’s Uncle Tom but for white women who disappoint other white women?’

Apparently, Trump didn’t find any of Wolf’s speech humorous. In fact he said that it was filthy and that the annual dinner was dead as we know it.

That’s saying a lot coming from a man who says horrible things about anyone who disagrees with him. A man who makes fun of people with physical abnormalities, who curses like a sailor, says racist things, and belittles women. Maybe Wolf should take Trump’s assessment of her speech as “filthy”, and use it as an advertisement to sell even more tickets to her next show. She’ll probably sell that show out in record time.

Here’s her full speech. Be warned there is some adult language.
