BREAKING: High School Hit By Lone Gunman – Police Asking For Public’s Help

It’s happened again. Another senseless act of violence perpetrated by another angry man against people much smaller and weaker than he. This time, the act occurred at a high school in L.A. County. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call Friday morning of a man with a gun at Highland High School in Palmdale, Ca..

According to NBC Los Angeles:

“Details regarding possible injuries were not immediately available, but firefighter-paramedics have responded to the school in the community north of Los Angeles. They received a report of an individual with a gunshot wound, the county fire department said.”

Tweets coming from people seemingly inside the school have started to pop up on Twitter:

CNN reports:

“The Palmdale Fire Department told CNN it has received reports of shots fired. The sheriff’s department received the first call around 7:05 a.m. PT. Palmdale, a city of about 150,000 people, is about an hour’s drive north of downtown Los Angeles.”
Heavy reports that the gunman is armed with a rifle:
“Some scanner traffic indicates that there may be one wounded student who shot in the hand and taken to Palmdale Regional hospital via private car. ABC Los Angeles reports that nobody has been transported from the school via ambulance as of 7:30 a.m. local time. The fire department is staging at Marie Kerr park, a mile north of the school.”
There are also reports coming in of another shooting at a school nearby:
“News Source LA reports that one person called 911 to report a shooting at Manzanita Elementary School. The sheriff’s department is on scene at that school too. The schools are separated by about seven miles.”
At this time reports indicate that one person has been shot.
