It is well-known that Mr. Trump harbors an extremely sexist attitude toward women. Perhaps, one of the largest pieces of evidence of this are comments he made on the now-infamous Access Hollywood tape. Trump told Bush, who was an Access Hollywood host at the time:
‘You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them.
‘It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.
‘And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything.
‘Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.’
Since this incident, Trump has been accused by several women of sexual assault, and more details have been disclosed in recent weeks. So, sadly, it isn’t surprising that Scotland’s national newspaper just published that Mr. Trump pays women significantly less than men at his Scottish golfing resort.
According to the paper, an internal report of the Trump Turnberry company compiled in March found an overall gender pay gap for females of 13.69 percent. The golf club is owned and operated by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.
Under the ownership of the Trump sons, female leaders at the club also suffer a large pay gap of 1400 British Pounds, which is the equivalent of $1800 U.S. dollars. This is a difference of 53.5 percent compared to men.
The dominance of men in high-paid positions at the resort can be attributed to the pay gap. One spokesman for the golf resort said that the differences are:
‘due to the number of senior leadership roles undertaken by males (and) reflective of the male-dominated functions present in a golf resort.’
Although it doesn’t seem to be the case, Turnberry stated that it takes steps to ensure fair payment between men and women for equivalent jobs.
The White House came out with a similar report ten months ago.
