Donald Trump and his team of incompetent spokespeople never shy away from attacking anyone who tries to hold them accountable for their despicable actions. Denials are followed by personal attacks which are then followed by nothing but lies to save face for the country’s least honest president.
After the lawyer for Trump’s former mistress Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, exposed the president for his affairs and lies, Trump’s unimaginable pick for a legal representative, Rudy Giuliani, called for an investigation into Avenatti’s personal life and finances. While the president’s and his team’s shady pasts and even shadier financial history are important to the country and makes questionable their ability to lead with conflict, Avenatti’s is simply not relevant to anything regarding the case he’s trying in court for his client.
One of those vicious areas attacked by Giuliani was his recent divorce, a story quickly picked up by right-wing, Trump supportive media outlets like Fox News and Daily Caller. While that divorce appears to have been messy, Giuliani’s own divorce history makes his questions about Avenatti’s more than hypocritical.
After divorcing his second cousin, Giuliani divorced his next two wives in self-destructive fashion. Having cheated on his second wife with his third, a move reminiscent of Trump’s own marriage history, Giuliani announced during a press conference that his marriage was ending. The problem with that was that his second wife says he did not even inform her first.
The personal attacks can only lead to a highlighting of the hypocrisy of Trump and his people. Twitter was quick to remind everyone of just how disgusting that hypocrisy is.
