Donald Trump has become so obsessed with pushing his conspiracy theory about an FBI “spy” sent in to infiltrate his campaign, a scandal he insists is bigger than Watergate, that he’s taken to spinning a whole new false narrative around it. What Trump tweeted on Saturday uncovered the motive behind the story, but what he does not say indicts him in a much larger way.
There is confirmed, credible evidence that the FBI did in fact warn him of Russia’s attempts to influence the 2016 presidential elections. NBC News wrote six months ago that in July of 2016, Trump was warned about the attempts.
‘The warning came in the form of a high-level counterintelligence briefing by senior FBI officials, the officials said. A similar briefing was given to Hillary Clinton, they added. They said the briefings, which are commonly provided to presidential nominees, were designed to educate the candidates and their top aides about potential threats from foreign spies.’
The question Trump does not ask here, what he and his administration has never asked, was why President Obama and the Democrats have gone to all of the trouble to send “spies” into his campaign, made up an enormous false collusion scandal, and put Trump and his campaign officials under wiretap surveillance but then never really used any of that information against him or his campaign.
Another question that isn’t asked is why the Democrats would have begun cooking up such a scandal to take him down if, as Trump has said repeatedly, they all believed Hillary would win. How could such an investigation begin in early 2016 and kept under wraps to subvert the presidency of a man they never thought would win?
