Whether it’s a speech in front of the Boy Scouts, military academy graduation, or Memorial Day tweets, there is nothing that Donald Trump cannot make about himself and how great he is. His latest tweet is no different from the others in terms of bragging and it follows his tendency to lie repeatedly about statistics.
Perhaps referring to the entire black American community as “the blacks” isn’t the best way to prove how not racist and concerned about millions of people, but when has Trump ever cared about such things?
While it’s true that black unemployment rates are low, Bloomberg explains that this isn’t exactly due to Trump’s policies.
‘Saying that black unemployment is this low “because of my policies” may seem a bit much, given the rate has simply kept falling at about the same rate that it had for the six years before Trump was elected.’
The same holds true for the Latino unemployment rate and someone really should explain to Trump what the proper terms are when referring to racial groups of Americans.
Trump also likes to take credit where credit is not due. It’s true that the unemployment rate for women is low (although not the lowest in history) but the rate of growth for women in the workplace has slowed under Trump from the rate of growth under President Obama.
Trump would never acknowledge that, though.
Twitter was not impressed by Trump’s self-congratulatory tweet. See some of their responses below:
