It’s graduation season, when students across the nation in high school and college are finishing up the present portions of their educational careers and moving onto new portions of their lives, either inside or outside of the classroom. There’s a natural attention paid in graduation ceremony environments to wisdom from those who have already been through the part of the journey the graduates have completed and gone on to bigger and even brighter things.

One such individual is our most recent president, Barack Obama. During a recent high school graduation ceremony in Kentucky, attention was paid to some wisdom he has shared in what can only be called a rather unique fashion.

Bell County graduate — and valedictorian — Ben Bowling was speaking before those assembled at his ceremony when he said as follows:

‘This is the part of my speech where I share some inspirational quotes I found on Google. ‘Don’t just get involved. Fight for your seat at the table. Better yet, fight for a seat at the head of the table.’ – Donald J. Trump.’

The quote, however, wasn’t taken from remarks made by current U.S. President Donald Trump. Barack Obama is the one who actually first uttered those remarks.

After the above portion of his speech, Bowling let those assembled at the ceremony in on this fact, saying:

‘Just kidding. That was Barack Obama.’

Bowling described what happened by telling a USA Today affiliate:

‘The crowd erupted in applause and before they could even finish clapping I said I was kidding and the applause quickly died.’

He further explained:

‘I just thought it was a really good quote. Most people wouldn’t like it if I used it, so I thought I’d use Donald Trump’s name. It is southeastern Kentucky after all.’

He added, according to the publication, that he didn’t get any criticism for his choice of words and had himself taken the situation to be “lighthearted.”

His observation, though, that “it is southeastern Kentucky after all” was certainly on point, since the Courier Journal notes that Trump finished with 80 percent of the vote in the county Bowling graduated in.

From Bowling’s present moment of internet fame thanks to his clever graduation speech, he plans to go to the University of Kentucky and eventually get a degree in medicine.

Check out a video of the part of his speech in question below.

Trump himself has spoken at a high profile graduation ceremony this year, having offered the commencement address at the United States Naval Academy last month.

Last year, he delivered commencement addresses at institutions including the Coast Guard Academy and Liberty University.

Overall, he has certainly offered up a number of mumbo jumbo quotes that might be able to be used at a graduation ceremony through such means as his occasional money grab books, but imagine what it would be like if a graduate stood in front of an assembled crowd and spoke as President Trump does these days on a regular basis.

For now, the United States and the rest of the world together remain under the weight of the incompetent, corrupt Trump administration.
