Donald Trump has been filling the Twitter world with disjointed tweets ranging from recommending his campaign buddy, Representative Devin Nunes’ (R-CA) for re-election, to a book, which he may or may not have read. After all, the commander-in-chief has not been known for his ability to stay on subject.
Nunes has been a loyal supporter ever since he worked on the president’s 2016 presidential campaign. Trump rarely remains loyal to those who support him, though.
However, this may the flowers and chocolate stage of an abusive relationship. After all, Nunes slipped into the White House in the dark of the night and secreted away information that 45 wanted publicized.
Trump tweeted that Nunes is a “true American Patriot:”
‘Vote for Congressman Devin Nunes, a true American Patriot the likes of which we rarely see in our modern day world….he truly loves our country and deserves everyone’s support.’
Unfortunately for Nunes, the media soon figured it out, and he was forced to recuse himself as the chair of the House Intelligence Committee. Never one to abandon Trump, the California representative ran a shadow committee investigation open to Republicans only.
Then in his next tweet, the commander-in-chief tweeted a recommendation for a book, 9 Rules of Engagement: A Military Brat’s Guide to Life and Success. We do know that the man sitting in the Oval Office watches an extraordinary amount of television, ever searching for news about himself, but does he really read?
He tweeted “Terrific new book:”
‘Terrific new book out by the wonderful Harris Faulkner, “9 Rules of Engagement.” Harris shares lessons from a military family. Enjoy!’
The news anchor of Outnumbered Overtime with Harris Faulkner and co-host of the talk show Outnumbered told the story of her life growing up in a military family in her book.
Faulkner, like Trump, revered her father, who was a decorate career military officer in the Vietnam era. The book was an odd choice for the president, because it incorporated the military’s value system of “knowledge, integrity, and leadership.”
The 45th president of these United States has not been known for any of these values. Still, he has been enamoured with military generals ever since he attended a military-esque high school.
